Our Team

The two officers of Landmark Homebuilders, Charles Jorgensen and John McCoy, bring over forty years of combined homebuilding experience to the company.

Charles Jorgensen, President, joined a large national homebuilder immediately upon graduation from University of Texas, and learned the business from the ground up. He rose to a management position with responsibility for hundreds of new homes each year. With over twenty years of Houston home building experience, Charles Jorgensen has an excellent read on the Houston home buyer's needs. In 1994, Charles started Landmark Homebuilders with the belief that he could offer Houston homebuyers the professionalism of a large company with the knowledge, responsiveness, and flexibility of a local builder. Many satisfied homeowners later, Landmark Homebuilders has become one of Houston's most respected builders.

John McCoy, Vice-President of Construction, also began his homebuilding career after attending Louisiana State University. He has managed the construction of over 2,000 homes since that time. His thorough knowledge of the construction process and the team of professional trade contractors he has assembled enable Landmark Homebuilders to assure each homeowner of high quality at reasonable prices. John McCoy has 26 years of experience in the construction industry. His family was involved for many years in the development aspects of the industry, working in the design and construction of communities throughout Texas and Louisiana. John's first priority is the selection of subcontractors and suppliers. "I have to have a great deal of trust in the people who work with me as a part of my team," John explains. "When I find good subcontracors, I work hard to keep them. I still have several of the same subs I had when I started in the business in 1980. They and my framer, cornice man and trim man are almost like family. John is not just a "hands on builder"; he is personally involved in all aspects of every home from design to finish, preferring to maintain total control over every project. In order to do this, John is on site every day. He believes in minimizing problems by doing it right the first time. "Common sense, experience and surrounding yourself with a team of excellent people are all important in getting the job done correctly."
